19 REASONS WHY ELECTION 2012 WILL BE PEACEFUL by:::: Shakiru Akinyemi
1There are no deserts in Ghana, where will the fighting take place?
2 A lot of people in Ghana say they are hungry. This means they would be weak to fight.
3 People will have to return home immediately they cast their votes else their wives punish them in bed that night.
4 To Ghanaians, Sunday is a holy day. Therefore nobody will fight.
5 Right after voting, Ghanaians would be eager to know the winner they’d forget about fighting.
6 Ghana doesn’t produce Arms, how then can we fight without Arms.
7 Voting will be in December, who wants to fight during Christmas celebrations?
8 There are more women than men in Ghana, who will go and fight? Afterall, Yaa Asantewaa even died years ago.
9 There will be a musical concert on election night at the conference centre. Everybody will go to see Wanlov and Delay. Who will be left on the streets to fight?
10 After voting people will be too hungry they have to go back home. There will be no one left on the streets.
11 Ghanaian women love Nigerian movies and the men champions league, after voting, everybody’ll go back home.
12 Ghanaian youth love facebooking more than any other thing, they go back home to facebook right after voting.
13 Policemen and soldiers are happy with their salaries. The will clamp down anybody who wants to cause mayhem.
14 Days before the election, every Ghanaian will be part of an excursion to Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Zimbabwe, and Libya. That should be enough warning that war is undesirable.
15 H.E Atta Mills, Nana Akufo Addo, Papa Ndoum will be kept in prison 3months prior elections. This will enable them advise their supporters accordingly. As for independent candidates, the least said the better.
16 War victims from Tunisia, Egypt and Libya are in Ghana organising seminars and conferences.
17 Having stood in the queue for about 8-10 hours just to vote, you’d have contracted lumbar radioculopathy. You’d be too weak to fight.
18 All health centres, clinics and hospitals will be closed down on Election Day. Fighting is at your own disadvantage.
19 All those who plan violence will either contract malaria, cholera or diarrhoea.
